Inari is the Japanese ‘kami’ of rice, fertility, industry, and…. foxes. Usually portrayed as female, Inari uses foxes to communicate with people and features in popular Shinto legend. The imagery at the Fushimi Inari Shrine near Kyoto captivated me!

I dislike the stereotype that women seek comfort in chocolate. But once this image was in my head the only way I could expel it was to draw it.
